A Biden-Harris Ticket: The Good, Bad and Ugly
The Left-Liberal Intrawar
With the announcement of Harris as the running mate, I’ve already noticed a predictable intra-war occurring between progressives (think Sanders), liberals (think Warren) and moderates (think Biden).
Progressives hate the Biden-Harris ticket due to each person’s problematic political past with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and other social issues.
Harris had a tough reputation as Attorney General in California for locking up lots’a people for petty crimes like marijuana possession, and then laughed about it in an interview.
Biden, as we all know, has his own dark history, as does every 40-year career politician.
The Obama Administration had way more ICE deportations than the Trump administration at this point in the term (not even close).
Yes, that is a complicated statistic, given that Obama focused more on new arrivals of immigrants and criminals, while Trump focused on overall deportations. That sweeping approach includes families that have been here for decades. Obama didn’t do that much.
Regardless, Biden has said things in the past (and present) about minority communities that would get you cancelled today faster than you can say “I do solemnly swear”.
